I Am Playing For A National Championship Today
I didn't sleep well last night. As someone who gets a smooth 10 hours every night, I was still wide awake at 3 a.m. because it was impossible to come down from last night's 13-2 Mississippi State win over Vanderbilt.
We are on the brink of history here in Omaha. When I envisioned growing the game a few months ago, I couldn't imagine we were headed to this moment. But now, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt will play in a winner-take-all Game 3 for the title tonight in Omaha.
I can barely breathe.
The video above explains exactly how we got here.
Also, yes, I know I'm not playing tonight. But I've been here two weeks and this run has been incredible. Let me have this.
I'm not going to lie to you people. You know the story. You know Mississippi State has never won a national title in a team sport. I'm not going to hide from it. But ESPN, this was totally unnecessary.
In typical Barstool fashion, I understand some of you of hoping for my crushing defeat so you can squeeze three minutes of content out of my soul being destroyed for the 7,000,000th time. But some of you are decent people. Some of you pay your taxes. Some of you are decent Americans. And some of you are rooting for me to win.
Here's another brief Omaha recap:
1. Portnoy is all in
God, I hope that's a good thing.
2. You're telling me this isn't a great sign?
Dawgs in 3.
